Consumer Spending In A Stagnant Economy

By Christopher Lee September 17, 2012 | Posted in

Dallas bankruptcy courts have seen their fair share of families suffering financial hardship at the hands of a struggling economy. While some economists predict recovery is far on the horizon, others are more hopeful as they point towards some promising signs.

Predicting The Unpredictable

It is hard to say with confidence whether we are truly coming up on an economic recovery or whether we will be facing several more years of turmoil. However, recent reports have indicated that there are some changes happening that could signal good things to come.

First, local job markets are improving. Many of our nation’s major cities are reporting an improvement in the number of jobs available and a subsequent decline in the unemployment rate. More jobs means more income and more income typically leads to the next point; consumer spending.

Although consumer spending is far from what it once was, many people are beginning to loosen their purse straps at retail stores. Despite record personal debts, spending has continued to surprise industry analysts since last Christmas. This holiday season is also expected to bring about some much needed purchase power to boost a wavering market.

Testimonials

Everybody I have encountered and meet with at Lee Law Firm has been positive and encouraging. And that is exactly what I needed because nobody looks forward to going through bankruptcy. The staff was honest about my situation and put my mind at ease about the process, and for the first time in months I was able to relax and focus…

on getting out of my financial situation with hope of starting over. I would recommend Lee Law firm of friends and family because I feel like they have my best interest at heart.
