Owners of BP gas stations and their customers have been put on the back burner for the last few months. All gas deliveries have stopped to most stations, leaving locals with fewer gas options and station owners with empty lots.

With more than 700 BP stations struggling to stay in business, many gas station owners are in a frenzy planning their way out of the red. New England has been hit hard by the lack of BP gas deliveries and stores are reporting close to an 80 percent drop in sales simply because they have no gas to offer customers. With the problem out of their control, station owners and customers alike are left waiting and wondering whether the BP gas will ever return to their neighborhood stores.
Getty Petroleum Marketing is the marketing firm for BP stations, who filed for bankruptcy a few months back. With their finances in turmoil a bigger dispute with oil distribution companies has sparked, causing the delay in gas deliveries. As Getty works to resolve their distribution contracts and find additional distribution companies, gas dependent citizens are taking the brunt of the punishment.
